Sports guy, tour master and motivational speaker Charlie Adams now has another title. He was recently named the senior national speaker for National Collegiate Scouting Association.
Charlie educates athletes and parents about getting athletic scholarships. “It is my No. 1 passion. It is life changing” to help the students and their parents, Charlie said. He gives them 10 points to ponder.
He added that some parents think that coaches have all the keys. “It is the family's responsibility” to look for every avenue.
He gives them pointers about being proactive in the search and not just waiting around to be discovered. “I also lay down the law about grades.” Athletes are talented but they need to have the academics.
Charlie said he speaks at combines in the spring and summer and to high schools in the fall and winter months.
