Chicago-National Collegiate Scouting Association's senior, Tyler Romero signed a national letter of intent to play for Lindsey-Wilson College men's golf team in Columbia Kentucky on a full ride athletic scholarship. With LWC coming off its most successful season in school history compiling a MidSouth Conference regular season record of 99-36 and a third place finish in the NAIA Region XI championships, Romero will help the Blue Raiders continue its winning ways this upcoming school year. "We are lacking one extra player that would put us in the top five next year and with the addition of Tyler we expect for him to come right in and take over," Head Men's Golf Coach Jeff Lambert said. Romero is one of six new signs that will join the Blue Raiders this upcoming school year. Romero held theNo. 1 position for Lake Havasu High School men's golf team where he finished his high school career in top fashion as a Junior Tour All-American, Tournament of Champions Medallist and Who's Who in student-athletes. In his sophomore year he was selected Australian Down Under Games All-American. Romero was named 3X team MVP, 3X All-Region and Region Champ. Outside of high school, Romero has participated in the Future Collegians World Tour, AJGA Tour, International Junior Golf Tour, Junior Tour, SMJGT and JGAA. "I received in excess of 200 letters from college coaches from the east coast to the west coast, expressing an interest in me as a student-athlete," Romero said. "I finally chose Lindsey Wilson, as I developed a good rapport with Coach Lambert." NCSA assisted Romero in finding the right college fit. It is a service that ensures that student-athletes, like Romero, know what they need to do, in the classroom and on their chosen field of play to succeed at the next level. NCSA helps identify and assess colleges they are best suited for based on their athletic, academic and financial factors.
