Weddington junior Elizabeth Hanna was recently named the Soccer Student Athlete of the Year by the National Collegiate Scouting Association (NCSA).
Hanna is in her third year as the Warriors' starting goalkeeper. She also was recently selected as a prep All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
"She's an outstanding student and a high-level soccer player," said Weddington coach Ray Fumo. "We're mighty lucky to have her."
The Chicago-based NCSA connects college coaches with standout prep athletes.
Several colleges are interested in Hanna, Fumo said, including Georgetown, Harvard and Duke. Hanna could qualify both academically and athletically for a scholarship, Fumo said.
