For many high school athletes, the world of college sports is a mystery.
It's complex, highly competitive and seemingly impenetrable.
If you're in the enviable position of having enough athletic talent to even consider playing at the next level, you might consider navigating a Web site that provides most of the answers to your questions.
Who doesn't need some help during the next phase of their athletic and academic careers?
The National Collegiate Scouting Association (NCSA) is headquartered in Chicago and opened its doors in 2000. They match college coaches with qualified student athletes.
NCSA has redesigned its Web site ( www.ncsasports.org) to better inform high school coaches, athletes, athletic directors, college coaches and most importantly student-athletes and their families on the complex world of recruiting.
The organization represents 30 men's and women's sports at colleges in all divisions.
New information on the Web site includes a rotating "ticker" that denotes when a NCSA student-athlete commits to a college or university; breaking news from the headlines in each sport, updated regularly; and spotlights on players who are making an impact in their sports.
