On Tuesday, January 15 the National Collegiate Scouting Association will be unveiling the NCSA Scouting Report (formerly student profile) which will introduce NCSA student-athletes to college coaches. College coaches nationally turn to us for recruits and the new, sleek NCSA Scouting Report responds to coaches’ needs to have more detailed information about NCSA student-athletes.
“We constantly advance our technology and communication based on college coaches’ demands,” said Chris Krause, NCSA CEO and Founder. “This expanded format allows NCSA Recruiting Coaches a longer format to help present student-athletes to coaches, ultimately enhancing the recruiting process.”
The new NCSA Scouting Report, available on the Student-Athlete Log-In section of ncsasports.org, is broken down into various sections such as personal information, scholastic information, etc. These sections expand into a larger window if coaches want additional detail about a student-athlete. Each section also has scroll down arrows so coaches can view all information available without losing data reported from a prospect’s freshman or sophomore years.
Important enhancements include:
- Video Evaluation: Now all video evaluations will be available on our video page. If a student-athlete has more than one video, all videos will be available to view on a media player on the right side of the video page.
- Personal Statement: Student-athletes can now add a personal statement, which allows coaches to get a sense of who athletes are and what they are looking for in a college. In addition, the personal statement allows a more individual feel to the NCSA Scouting Report and video evaluation.
- Transcript: Verification of grades and test scores is essential to the recruiting process. New for 2008, student-athletes can now download their transcripts, allowing coaches quick, easy access to verified grades and test scores.
- Email Accessibility: The advanced NCSA Scouting Report will allow coaches additional options to forward information to other coaches and directly email the student-athlete. They can also update their personal coaching profile or register with us. All of these upgrades were made based on coaches’ requests and will help streamline their recruiting process.
- Coach Request: Coaches frequently email us with needs to complete their recruiting class. To expedite coaches’ access to student-athletes, a new coach request form has been added. So if coaches need a 6’0 goalkeeper from California with a 1200 SAT score, they have an easy method to communicate their needs directly to our staff.
- More Navigation Options: Lastly, we included a “Print” button and “Help” button with FAQ’s that makes updating the NCSA Scouting Report even easier.
The latest NCSA Scouting Report is an exciting advancement that will help both coaches and student-athletes and is another example of how NCSA is redefining collegiate recruiting. If you have questions, feel free to contact a Recruiting Coach.
