CHICAGO, Ill. - Northwest Missouri State University placed 15th in the 2006 National Collegiate Scouting Association (NCSA) Collegiate Power Rankings for NCAA Division II, released Aug. 16. The rankings are based on academics, athletics, and student-athlete graduation rates, using the averages from the U.S. News & World Report ranking, NACDA U.S. Sports Academic Director's Cup ranking, and the NCAA Student-Athlete Graduation Rates. Northwest was previously ranked 27th in the 2005 NCSA Power Rankings.

Northwest finished 19th in the 2006 NACDA Director's Cup rankings, and placed 64th in the annual U.S. News & World Report rankings.
Stonehill (Mass.) College finished first among Division II institutions. Truman State finished third, while Washburn placed 24th to round out MIAA schools making the top-40.
The NCSA was founded in 2000 by Chris Krause, a former full scholarship football player at Vanderbilt University. The annual rankings, which began in 2002, are intended to provide prospective student-athletes a comprehensive report to choosing schools on overall performance.
