What the Coaches are Saying...

“Howard Payne University is located in Brownwood, Texas which is in the West Central part of the state. Brownwood has about 20,000 people and is very supportive of their athletic programs at both the high school and collegiate levels. The region provides plenty of recreational activities and HPU is just minutes away from Lake Brownwood. HPU is a four-year Liberal Arts University with a wide variety of degrees to choose from. We are a Christian University that is affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas. We believe this to be a very important part of Howard Payne University. We compete in NCAA Division III and are a member of the very competitive American Southwest Conference. We believe the ASC to be the best D3 football conference in the country and an exciting brand of football. We are a multiple offense and a 4 man front.”

“Howard Payne University is a prestigious academic institution where you will be challenged both academically and athletically. An established regional leader, HPU ranks in the top 4 Western region among the “Great Schools, Great Prices” according to U.S. News and World Report the last 6 years running. A Howard Payne education will enable you to become successful in whatever field you decide to pursue following graduation. The 2016 recruiting class will be a major factor in the success of our football program. We compete in the American Southwest Conference. The ASC is one of the toughest conferences in Division III football. The final piece is the student-athlete, such as you. We offer the opportunity for new players to have an immediate impact. This is an exciting time at Howard Payne and we want you to be a part of our historic football program. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
