Personal Statement

This is definitely the hardest part about this whole process.  What 17 year old knows who they are?  We think we do sometimes, but really we don't.  I do know that out of life I want to help people.  For now, my college goal is to become the highest level of paramedic that I can.  If I am a first responder, I know I am helping people.  My uncle talks about taking it farther and being a PA so I can have security and money.  That is great, but I'm not sure it will have the adrenalin rush and satisfaction that I know will come with being the first person on the scene of a car crash. I have other interests, like law enforcement and accounting, but no matter what I choose, I will always be working to help others.

I am a serious player when it comes to sports.  I try to be one step ahead so I recognize what I need to do next.  I am a leader on the teams I play with.  I try to add that spark to for others to feed off of so we can do more as a team. I try to recognize when someone needs a pep talk, when my pitcher needs to take a minute, and when my left field needs to brush off the last play. I also want to do well.  I want to go fast, steal bases, hit balls, run, catch, all of it.  I want to do it all of the time,

Academically, I have come a long way.  I got a TBI in my sophomore year of high school and have worked hard to come back from that.  Not every part of school is easy for me and  I have to work hard.  Words don't look the same anymore and I need to read things a couple of times now.  Sometimes it is frustrating, but I don't give up even when I know it would be easier.  I also know that giving up will not get me anywhere.  Sports are easier than school, but I know I need both to be the man I want to be and a good member of my community.

I have always been taught to serve my community, help others, and always give my time to kids and elderly.  I have helped coach 4-6 year olds hockey, I always spend time thanking people for coming to games, pick up trash from roads, locker rooms, and fields, and help take care of lawns with my dad for older people on his mail route.  I have good role models and want to be one too.

By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
