Personal Statement
Being a student-athlete is probably one of the most important things to me. From the athlete-baseball side, I have been fortunate to be able to play in a competitive environment thus far, both in the school setting as well as in summer travel ball. This has allowed me to really hone my skills as a solid defensive outfielder and has also enabled me to get the at bats needed against really good pitching. My high school coach has also really instilled in me a solid work ethic, both on the field and in the weight room. This is a year round strength and conditioning program that will continue to help me reach my full potential. Teamwork and commitment are two things that I have really come to value through my experiences on the baseball field and in the weight room. From the student side, I also bring a strong work ethic to the classroom. I work hard in and out of the classroom. I really believe in the educational component of being a student-athlete. While I’m not entirely sure what field of study I want to pursue, I look forward to the process.
I am looking for a program that will be a good fit both academically as well as athletically. I know that I have the talent to compete at the collegiate level, but I also know that I have the strong moral character that is desired by programs. Additionally, my leadership ability can be seen both by leading by example as well as in verbal communication. I feel that with these strong qualities I can make an immediate impact on your program.
