I stand at 6 foot tall, and weigh 190 pounds, and I am getting bigger and stronger every day! I hit left and throw right. September of 2011, will begin my sophomore year at Pima Community College in Tucson, AZ. I am academically proven, strong and consistent, low risk. I am fundamentally sound, talented baseball player as well as a young man with core values of character, pride, dedication and leadership. I will continue to be successful and would appreciate your review, evaluation and consideration regarding me being a great fit for your baseball program.
I characterize my style of play as focused, steady, well balanced, and consistent, I am never too high and never too low.
I play the game hard, aggressive, and smart. I can hit with plus power at times, but my strength is getting good ABs, putting pressure of the defense, hitting line drives and gaps, getting on base and scoring runs or driving them across the plate.
Defensively, I have demonstrated the ability to play both in infield and outfield consistently and with very few errors at the college level. I have a strong as well as accurate arm. I have good linear speed with a 6.75 second / 60 yard dash.
My life has been split between Orlando and Tucson. I was born in the Orlando, Florida area in 1992 and moved to Tucson on January 4, 2007. I have been playing competitive level baseball as well as participating in all of the traditional leagues, year around since the age of 8.
My athletic accomplishments outside of high school were Honorable Mention All-National AAU Tournament Team where I hit .857 in a National AAU Tournament in Burnsville, MN at age 12 (2004). In high school, I was named 1st team All-State in 5AII Arizona, 1st Team All- Region (5AII Southern), 2nd Team All-Southern AZ, and also invited to and started in the 5AII All-Star Game in Surprise, AZ all in my senior season. In addition, I have been fortunate to be a part of many all-Star teams and travel clubs throughout the past 11 years. In my 11 years of playing competitive baseball, I have been a part of successful teams and know what makes teams successful.
I had 2 years of Varsity experience at a variety of positions ranging from second base, to third base, to left field. I believe my high school and JUCO experience in Arizona was far more competitive than many areas/states may be accustomed to; therefore I feel my level of skills and talent, your return on investment will be high, I assure you and my current and near term potential is well above average.
Building on this great foundation, I have one full year (Fall and Spring seasons) of NJCAA experience for Pima Community College, in one of the best conferences Junior College baseball has to offer (ACCAC). It is also a wood bat league which always provides an advantage for adapting to the new aluminum BBCOR. In my freshman year, I started, mostly at second base and in left field, but also made starts/appearances at third base, designated hitter, and right field. I can play any position, aside from catcher and pitcher effectively at the college level. I'm a left-handed hitter who excels against right handed pitching but consistently hits left-handed pitching as well.
I play with an old school, hard-nosed, scrappy attitude where winning is the ultimate objective. I'm a grinder; I make the pitcher work very hard to get me out. I focus on making every at bat, creating a value of some sort; many pitches, as selfless at bat to move runners, “wear” a pitch to get on, hit a sacrifice bunt or fly, you name it!
I have solid and strong and proven fundamental skills on the diamond and even better baseball IQ. I have a genuine confidence in my skills and strengths and capabilities, but I am also aware of my limitations. I understand I can't go into every at-bat trying to do too much, I utilize all aspects of my game to be able to give my most to help a team win. I'm able to apply all my skills to create runs scored against our defense.
Understanding the situation and what needs to be done with an unselfish attitude is a big part of my game. I believe the only way you can be successful in a sport that includes many opportunities to fail, is with complete dedication and hard work.
To me, it's not always about the result as much as it is about the process, or how I did it. Success is great, but not if the process towards the success is faulty. I strive towards playing the game with a consistent approach that I can utilize for success, day in and day out.
I prefer to play in a warm-weather, competitive college baseball environment with players who want to win baseball games as badly as I do. I have no exact preference for location or region, as long as the school is located in baseball weather or the organization sports strong competitiveness.
I'm looking for a big, small, or in-between size school. I have no preference on enrollment size. I prefer a school with a strong academic level and want to contribute at the most competitive level I possibly can, in the most positive environment available to me.
My athletic goals are to be a part of a team at the highest competitive level I am capable of. I want to be a part of a team that is a winning organization and prides themselves of competing for championships. I want to be a part of something bigger than myself. On an individual note, I want to be a catalyst, as well as a high-impact player on the team. I want to be the guy up to bat with the game on the line.
I spend most of my free time focused on my dream, my passion which is improving my baseball skills; focusing on getting better every game, every season. Other activities that I enjoy are bass fishing, traveling and bowling.
I lead by example; I play every play and each game the same way, nothing but my personal best for the best of my team! My work ethic, hustle and leadership and presence are intangibles that make me a difference maker, a game changer. I play each game the way it should be played!
I am a high trust, low maintenance in all aspects of my life. I have an outstanding family, my biggest fans and my true support system. I have been raised by a very strong family unit, faithful, respectful in an environment, where the Golden Rule was our key run rule.
I am respectful, trustworthy and loyal. As my academic transcripts indicate, I am a very capable and successful academically as well, which can be significant challenge due to the time demands and expectations. I am organized, logical and manage my time effectively.
There are numerous aspects that are a part of my overall package. There are the obvious things, like defensive versatility, being extremely dependable and consistent, high baseball IQ, on base skills, and things that are harder to define, like enthusiasm, results driven, ambition and leadership. These elements are all included when you select me and are a primary reason you want me to be a vital part of your program, we will succeed together!
