Personal Statement
Hello and thanks for viewing my profile! My name is Jared Cochran, from Tucson Arizona. I am a solid, consistent and methodical right handed pitcher with an effective arsenal. My pitches include the fastball, a nasty curve (compared to Barry Zito by commentators during the 2014 DIV 3 Championship game), a brutal change-up, splitter and a slider. I am very much a control pitcher skilled at painting the corners and leaving the hitters guessing with every pitch.
I have consistently been a starter on every team I have played, in both high school and club ball. I strive for versatility and excel at any position my coaches have placed me. I consider myself an effective pitcher, 3rd baseman, 2nd baseman and short-stop.
I started playing ball when I was 8 years old and since then I have always wanted to go as far as I can as a baseball player and reach my full potential. I have a great feel for the game; I have a lot of smarts when it comes to being between the lines. I am great with working with other teammates who are struggling because I like to help and encourage my teammates. I am very analytical when it comes to mechanics. I handle a bat really well and am great at placing all of my pitches in my arsenal.
I know when to slow the game down and keep the rest of the team focused. I communicate with my team really well and have been a great leader. Also, every time I step onto the field I want to be the best player out there. I compete – plain and simple. I am confident I can bring any team energy and a competitive edge.
