My name is Jordon Yoshida, I am 6 ft/170 lb (LH throw/RH bat) and completed my junior season with the Clovis West High School (CA) varsity baseball team. I started 32 games at corner OF and batted in the leadoff and #2 positions. Our conference is the Tri-River Athletic Conference (California) which had a final 2014 season ranking of 7th in the nation. Needless to say, our conference was extremely competitive and I had a BA/OBP .327/.393 against already recruited senior pitchers such as Jake Labosky (Duke), McCarthy Tatum (Fresno St), Michael Bono (Santa Clara), Matt Walker (UCLA), and Colton Eastman (Fullerton). I believe I am versatile as I have also pitched and my speed is a standout (6.6 60y most recently on 5/28/14); I was 7 for 7 in stolen bases.
Education is extremely important to me and my family. My family has achieved: Masters’ degrees (both parents), Medical Doctor, a Registered Nurse, Navy Avionics Tech (active duty), and another in a Bachelor of Science in nursing program. I am a good student, completed 4 AP classes through this year, and plan on 3 more next year. I would like to use baseball as a tool to maximize my education for college. My dream is to play baseball as long as possible, but know a good education will provide me skills and knowledge in any career. I have interests in teaching, counseling, coaching, physical training.
