March 2017Personal Statement
I am a highly versatile and athletic player as capable of running down fly balls in CF as I am blocking a low pitch from behind the dish. As a freshman I led the Terra Linda HS JV team in batting average, OB%, stolen bases, runs scored and innings played. As a sophomore I was pulled up to varsity mid-season as an immediate starter and lead-off batter, I played 8 of 9 defensive positions and led the team in batting average .423 and OBP .500. I am an aggressive defender on the field, willing to layout to make plays and I encourage my teammates to do the same as I am committed to back them up. As the teams lead-off hitter I am laser focused on getting on base, once on base I look to create havoc for the opposing pitchers stealing 14 bases (100%) and scoring 21 runs, leading the team in both.
Academically, I have improved dramatically each year of high school. I didn't take my grades as seriously as I should have in my freshman year but for my current junior year I maintained a 3.3 for the year. I am planning to study computer science as my major in college. If given the opportunity to play at the college level I will be 100% committed to getting better each and everyday.

- Good feedback on speed and base-running, solid approach mid-oppo. Encouraged me to be more aggressive "violent" in my at bats, (as a lead-off batter I've always been more of a contact hitter focused on OBP vs my power but am working ti improve my exit velocity). Also working to improve my OF throwing motion and improve quickness of my release.

- Received great feedback from D1, D2 and JC coaches in attendance. Excellent aggressiveness, speed and footwork attacking the ball in the outfield, great accuracy and trajectory on throws. Very good feedback on swing mechanics. D1 coaches need me to bulk up +20-25 lbs to improve power. Coaches said I was "very projectable".
