Personal Statement

I started playing baseball when I was 5 years old. I loved how when I was little the game was so basic and easy. Growing up playing baseball, it got a lot more fun and challenging at the same time because of the mechanics and all the new things we had to learn.  I played on multiple All-Star teams at GVSLL Ben Page Youth Center. I was on the club team called the Express at 10 years old. This led up all the way to high school playing the positions Third Base, Shortstop, Center Field,  the corners and Pitcher.  I am very versatile and can play any position well with the exception of first. I am a solid defensive player with only 1 error on the season this past year. I throw right handed and bat right handed also.  Although I haven't pitched much prior, I will be the closer for our Varsity team this season and have been working in the bullpen for a few months and am adding a video of that.

Baseball is a privilege and not just a sport that I have to play. You're not always going to win.  You're not always going to lose.  It's about how much you love and care for this sport. Yes I've failed sometimes. I wanted to give up on baseball and try a different sport but I didn't.  I kept practicing and practicing to get stronger and have more discipline. Our coach at San Marcos High School is constantly striving to make us better by making us work out 3 times a week in the weight room, or running, or doing AB exercises. Even though it's summer and we get a break from school doesn't mean we get to slack off when it comes to baseball, or any sport for that matter.

My academic skills are great right now with a current 4.0 GPA.  I am currently a Senior and am in AP British Literature and AP Economics.  I am a member of the National Honor Society and our Varsity team just was awarded the Academic Achievement Award having the highest cumulative GPA in the entire CIF Southern Section (California) above all other baseball teams. I'm willing to give 110% no matter what. I'm ready for anything.

Thank you.
