Personal Statement
Early in my childhood my parents provided me with opportunities to play a variety of different sports. Only baseball and (being from the Hoosier state) basketball, stuck. Playing on travel teams starting at age 10 exposed me to a higher level of competition. This lit a fire within me to continue to work on personal goals, as well as, contribute toward the success of my team. Relocating to California at age 15, as an incoming Freshman, placed me in a position of having to start over with friendships, teams, and relationships with coaches.
My goal to play at the collegiate level is foremost on my mind. I believe all my past experiences have prepared me for the next phase of my life. I like to lead by example. My strong work ethic sets an example for others to follow and contributes toward team cohesiveness. I am very coachable and have always learned from every coach I have had.
I have maintained a merit-able GPA, have enrolled in AP classes throughout my high school career, to receive dual credit to be better prepared for college. I apply myself and study hard to earn the grades that I have.
In addition to fundraising, to support my high school baseball team, I also volunteer at youth baseball camps run through our high school. I am also a member of Street Feed which assists the homeless with meals. I have been elected to serve as the Secretary for Street Feed in my upcoming Senior year.
My desire is to attend a college where I will continue to excel in the classroom as well as on the field. Decisively, with continued support from my family, my goal is to be matched with the right college, to receive a good education, be surrounded by a great group of peers, with a high level of competition on the field.
