Personal Statement

I grew up in a small mountain town near Lake Tahoe, a community that prides itself on athletic participation. I believe that this has instilled in me a strong sense of team loyalty, commitment, and determination. Because our town is filled with incredible athletes, I have developed a strong competitive spirit. Along with this, academics have always been important to me, and I have always held myself to high academic standards. The combination of sports and school has challenged me to grow as a student athlete at a high level. Being a multi-sport athlete has allowed me to develop multiple skill sets and stay active throughout the year. As a catcher and quarterback, I am able to anticipate what will happen while the play is developing. In both sports, baseball and football, I take pleasure in the fact that I am coachable along with the fact that I am not afraid to take charge on the field and become a coach. I consider myself to be a cerebral player based on how I use my intelligence and knowledge of the game, coupled with my athletic ability to play at a high level.

Ever since I can remember, I have loved the game of baseball because it is a game of failure. I love being able to succeed three out of ten times and be considered a good player. My goal for college is to play baseball and prepare myself for the future. I believe that baseball will help equip me for the future by giving me the mindset that it is alright to fail as long as you learn from those mistakes, pick yourself up, and try again. However, winning is always my top priority.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
