When people ask me why I play baseball, I tell them because it's the sport I love. Baseball has and will always be my favorite sport. Through the years, I've learned to respect and appreciate this sport more and more. I've learned so much from it and really love playing it. It's given me so many life lessons, like experiencing the thrill of victory and the disappointment of defeat. Yet, one of the greatest lessons baseball has taught me, is to never give up on myself.
While growing up and playing baseball since I was six years old, I've had so many positive experiences and excellent role models. I've learned how to compete with others and to challenge myself. As a player, I consider some of my best strengths to be my athleticism, a solid arm, quickness, and a strong defensive and offensive player. I can be a team leader and will continue to develop as an athlete. Attending a college that will offer me a great academic program and allow me to continue to play this sport that I love is very important.
My goal as a student is to attend a great academic university and play on the baseball team. I've learned to be disciplined and hardworking both on and off the field. I was the Valedictorian when I graduated from middle school and have had honor classes as part of my high school courses. It's not easy to balance both academics and sports, but everyday I try my best to achieve it. Baseball is not just any sport to me, it has become a way of life!
