Joey Salazar '18 Recruiting Profile

I am a student-athlete, first and foremost. I put in just as much work in the classroom as I do on the field, and getting an education is my top priority. I am looking for a college that will help academically as well as athletically. When it comes to baseball, it has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My first baby picture was of my dad holding me in his mitt. He helped me become a team-first player, willing to do whatever it takes to help my team succeed. Baseball is a game of failure, and I have experienced that plenty of times. But through this, I have learned how to persevere, how to be a leader on the diamond and outside of baseball, how sweet a victory feels, and how a loss stings. All of these experiences transfer to life, whether it be in the classroom or in the real world. I know I have the leadership and work ethic to be a successful student-athlete for your program.
