Personal Statement
I have been playing baseball since I can remember. The first time I swung a bat I was hooked. Now every time I step onto that baseball diamond, I feel like I am home. I try to push myself every time I am on the field, or in the cages to improve my defense, and offense. Almost every day, I am either throwing the ball in the yard trying to improve my throw down, or in the cages to help me perfect my swing, so when it is time to do my job for the team, to hit a run in, or to throw a kid out i will be ready to do so.
What sets me apart from the other candidates is my determination to succeed not just on the field, but in the classroom. Due to pushing myself in the classroom, I am now doing junior classes, and college courses as a sophomore. I am also involved in extracurricular activities such as FBLA and FFA. This is helping me become a better leader and roll model. I am also involved in youth group and 4-H.
To keep fit and moving in the off season of baseball, I play football in the fall, and basketball in the winter. Even though we practice right after school for 2.5 hours, I still find time in the evenings to work on my baseball skills.
