Personal Statement
Hi coach,
I am a member of the class of 2018 at the Hopkins School in New Haven, CT, and I participate in the varsity wrestling and baseball programs. I play AAU ball for the CT CrackerJacks, and have been working with coach Mike O'Keefe, a member of the Braves, Angels, and Red Sox organizations, since age 9. I coach camps for Mike in the summer, and really enjoy working with younger players. I live in Bethany, CT with my mother, Julie, and my sister, Elizabeth. I have played baseball since the age of 2, and it has always been my dream to play at the highest level possible for me, wherever that may be.
I play 2B and OF INTERCHANGEABLY, only slightly preferring 2B. I can play wherever you would need me, or wherever you feel that I would fit best!
Hopkins has a rich academic tradition, and I feel that the heavy workload and intellectual environment provide the perfect challenge and opportunity for me. I am also an active representative for Hopkins' student council, and have been since 8th grade. I push myself on and off of the field to maintain at least a 3.5 GPA, and my competitive attitude and skill level. I am always up for a challenge, and push myself in the classroom, on the ball field, and on the wrestling mats. This drive earned me a 6th place finish at the 132lb. weight class in the WNEISWA (Western New England Independent School Wrestling Assoc.) championship, and solid varsity playing time with my Hopkins team in CT and on our team's trip to Florida.
I love baseball, and there would be nothing more meaningful to me and my family than to have baseball included in my college experience.
Thanks Coach, and I can't wait to hear from you,
