In college, I want to be successful academically and in my preferred sport, baseball. I want to take baseball as far as I can with the goal of being in the major league. My 2nd love is within the medical field, where my goal is to specialize in Orthopedic medicine as an Orthopedic APRN. I am excited and looking forward to being able to play baseball at the collegiate level and meeting all the coaches and teammates as well as broadening my knowledge in medicine.
I'm highly motivated and focused entirely on baseball and my academics. I take charge when I have to and I will ALWAYS give you no less than 110%. I have a strong winning attitude, and look at losses as an opportunity to grow and learn. I believe everyone is deserving of respect, the chance to become the person they strive to be and truly hold close the old saying "treat others the way you would want to be treated." I am always more than happy to help others, both on and off the field. Through my high school, I am involved with Unified sports and find great pleasure in teaching and interacting with fellow intellectually challenged students in showing them the fundamentals of baseball. There is no better feeling when they ask me for my autograph!
Academically, I am also very focused challenging myself to obtain a high GPA. This summer, I will be shadowing an Orthopedic Doctor observing his day to day patient care within his own practice as well as surgical procedures. Dr. Scarangella also provides assessment and treatment to the Connecticut Tigers baseball team where I was invited to participate. I am also participating in a week long baseball program this summer where I will be traveling and competing against Puerto Rico teams.
I strive to be a well-rounded person and would not be able to accomplish this without my baseball experiences and my family. I respect and expect constructive criticism, as I am always open to hearing and trying a new approach or learning different technique's.
I want to thank everyone in advance for taking the time to read my profile and for consideration into your program and college.
All My Best,
Travis Dupuis
