Personal Statement
Over my years of playing baseball, I have developed myself into a true utility player. While my preference is middle infield, I enjoy learning the mechanics involved in playing different positions, and I have played every position except first base and center field over the last four years of high school, summer, and fall baseball. My coaches have considered me to be athletic, versatile, and coachable. They know that my passion is to PLAY baseball and I do not care where I play in order to be in the game. and contribute to a win. I am the one that coaches put in the infield when the game is on the line, the one asked to play the outfield or behind the plate when there is a need, or to pitch a few innings as a closer. Being a utility player has allowed me to develop my fielding skill at many positions, has enabled me to learn all aspects of the game of baseball, and has enhanced my respect for the game. I train year-round improve both batting and fielding, and I am never satisfied until I know I have reached my true potential. I have a lot more to learn and I am confident that I can develop further in my senior year of high school and beyond. Playing college baseball not only is an aspiration in itself, but it will also be an asset to me, to experience a sport from the inside, as I pursue a degree and career in sports administration and communication.
