Personal Statement
I am highly dedicated to being successful across my ventures in academics, sports and life in general. I also take pride in my friendships and my family.
From an academic perspective, I take that as one of the most important aspects of my life. I am a life-long high honors student, currently taking four AP sources and two honors courses as a junior. My grade point average has consistently exceeded 4.0 (4.6 weighted). I continue to explore new opportunities to learn and wish to attend a top notch academic institution to continue my growth.
As a baseball player, I am a six foot two left handed pitcher with a repertoire of pitches including four-seam fastballs, two-seam baseballs, sliders, change-ups and knuckle curves with a history of sustained control across all of these pitches. While still growing, my top fastball speed reaching 81 MPH which I believe will continue to improve as I go through my pitching training / works outs and fill out physically. I also specialize in location-based pitching and base runner management leveraging a highly effectively pick off move and a great deal of study on how to pitch "intelligently". I also play basketball and recreational football in the off season, which I feel contributes to the growth of my overall athletic capabilities.
Finally, I pride myself on the leadership qualities that players, coaches, brothers and friends seem to value in me. I take my relationships seriously, including participating in my community, by doing things like volunteer football with younger kids, and helping others. When not playings sports or studying, I also am an experiences marine reef aquarium hobbyist and active professional sports "fan", especially for the NFL's Denver Broncos.
