If my teams not winning having a great game doesn't matter due to the fact that baseball is the ultimate team game it's no way to get around it selfish players never get to the highest level because they aren't willing to work with others and take criticism to get better because they think they are to good for it, no one is to good for anything. Everyone is human regardless of skin color we all make mistakes, but it's those mistakes that shape who we become as people and how we react to the next mistake we make. Honesty is the best policy because if you lie it keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger and then it gets to a point where it can't be controlled and you end up hurting people's feelings. Many see failure as a disappointment and it makes them want to quit, but I see it as an opportunity to make a better version of yourself, a successful version of you.
