I started playing baseball at the age of five, I've tried other sports but still fall back to baseball because it is by far the greatest sport in the world. I have always dreamed of playing college baseball. Being a lot taller than most kids my age has opened up more opportunities than I could ever imagine. Going all the way back to my little league days and even still today I am usually the first one at the field. My freshman year I was selected to play JV baseball but through a lot of hard work and dedication I was moved up to Varsity before regular season started. During that year I continued to work hard and beat out a senior as the starting first baseman. In the same year as a pitcher, I was always put in the game during tough situations like bases loaded with no outs. That year I won the team Iron-Man award for my performance as a pitcher. My sophomore year I continued to be the starting first baseman, I also became a starting pitcher in the same year. Even as an underclassman my coaches and teammates considered me to be a leader. Over the summer between my sophomore and junior year I was selected to play for the district 9 Big League team and was the youngest on the team at sixteen playing with eighteen year old's. That summer we placed second in the state of Florida. After that season ended I started playing travel ball for an 18U team. I was also the youngest on this team and on both I was the starting first baseman and a starting pitcher. Now in my Junior year I am the starting first baseman and starting pitcher and I would definitely be considered a leader on the team. The underclassmen look up to me both literally and figuratively. My high school coach always says that there are three things that should be above baseball and that's faith, family and school and I agree. I look forward to working hard, being coachable, getting stronger, improving my skills and becoming an asset to the school that is the best fit for me.
