Personal Statement
All throughout my life I have always had a passion for baseball. I have been playing travel ball since I was 12 and have played for the Jacksonville Blue Claws, Tampa Venom and currently with the Florida Burn. I've been on my Varsity High School team as a starter since my freshman year. As my Dad always used to tell me, "There are so many guys out there who have the same dream as you and if you want your dream to come true then you're going to have to work harder than all those guys." Ever since he told me that, it has stuck in my head. Every time I am out on the baseball field I am giving it 100% whether it's practice or a game. I am always willing to give it my all and try to reach my full potential. I also do conditioning and strength training on my own.
Because I've played baseball since I was eight I have the ability to play more than one position in the infield and outfield. For my high school team as a sophomore (reached the finals of the Regionals in 2014) I played third base and short stop and for my Florida Burn travel team I played center field and pitched. I am easily coachable and am always looking to get better. No matter how difficult a task I am put up against, it will never faze me and I will get it done. My primary position is center field and that's what I am playing my junior year in high school and for the Florida Burn 2016 Pennant team. My fastest 60 yard dash time is 6.51 (January 22, 2015 Sickles baseball tryout).
Marine biology is another love I acquired at a young age. My biggest influence for loving the ocean so much is my Grandpa. My Grandpa had a boat and he would always take me on fishing trips to a spot where we caught a lot of different species of fish ranging from Pin Fish, Catfish and Grouper to Spanish Mackerel and Shark.
Grades are something I think are very important. My GPA through the first semester of my junior year is 4.57 and I'm taking all AP and Honors classes. High school will pave the way for my future and if I want to be successful it all starts with school. Being a very good baseball player isn’t enough for me. I want to be a great student-athlete.
