Personal Statement
When I was in 2nd grade, we had to write down what we wanted to be when we grew up. My dream was to "play in the MLB and make a billion dollars." While I still love to play in the MLB my dream is just a little more practical. I want to go to college, get a good education, and play baseball, the game that I still love.
I have played both football and baseball for high school, and I was able to balance my responsibilities to both teams while maintaining my GPA; however I decided at the end of my junior year to focus on baseball which is my passion
On the field, I am a leader and good teammate. I am working very hard everyday to get stronger and to become the best player that I can be. As a young senior, having just turned 17 on August 14th, I know how hard I must work, but I also know that I will continue to grow and develop over the course of this year.
Off the field, I am a good student and good citizen. I am a good role model for other players because I do not give into peer pressure. I also take opportunities to volunteer, especially around the holidays when our team works at local food banks, and I always participate in school beautification projects.
Regardless of whether I am given the opportunity to play baseball because I know how important a good education is, but I would love the chance to play college baseball. This would be an opportunity that I would not take for granted.
I would love to play in Florida where my family has the Florida Pre-Paid tuition; however, I am open to all options. I hope to find the right college match, and for me that not only means somewhere that I cam get a good education but also be able to contribute on the field.
Who knows, I may be an MLB player one day or maybe I wont. For now, I would simply like the opportunity to play baseball at the next level.
