Personal Statement
My name is Lance Minson and I am a member of Columbia High School’s Varsity Baseball team. I have participated in school as well as travel and recreational ball teams since age 5. During this time I experienced wins and losses as well as trials and errors. As a twelve year old my team Elite Pro Ball went to Cooperstown where I hit 9 home runs and our team made it all the way to the semifinals. It was an amazing and exhilarating experience. Baseball is my passion and I have worked hard to improve my overall skills, health and strength. I feel that my strengths include batting and seeing the play of the ball. I strive to get as many at bat opportunities as possible this next year and a half. One way that I will do that is by attending prospect camps and playing for my high school team. I have experience in playing first base as well as in the outfield. I also have been called on to pinch hit and be designated hitter during my freshman and sophomore years.
When I am not hitting baseballs I enjoy playing golf, seeing a ball traveling through the air is an awesome experience. A side note, I have been honored as Golfer of the Year both my Freshman and Sophomore years and continue being our teams lowest scorer and number 1 seed.
I am a Dual enrollment student and have been in honors classes since 7th grade. I am a member of National Honor Society and was invited to Phi Theta Kappa. I hope to advance my education at a Division 1 school that offers Sports Medicine.
Please let me know if I can visit your campus in the upcoming months. I would also like information regarding camps or workouts that you may be offering in the future.
Thank you for taking to time to read and I look forward to hearing from you. I appreciate any input that you might have regarding my quest to become one of your schools possible recruits.
