Personal Statement

Hello, my name is Greyson Watson. I am in the class of 2022. I’m 6 foot and 185 pounds so I am on the larger side of my age group and teammates. My primary position is outfield but I'm also a pitcher. I would say my biggest perk is that I am a very strong leader and I am not afraid to step up when needed and lead. I started on JV my freshmen year and sophomore year. I had an amazing sophomore year in both batting and fielding, on JV in only 5 games before Covid-19 hit I was batting .611, with a slugging percentage of 1.412 along with 2 homeruns. I look forward to what my senior year brings me considering I am our ace pitcher as well as team captain.

I take my education very serious and before anything. Although I did struggle in class my freshmen year, I got myself together every since then and I focus a lot on getting done what I need to and when I need to. I have just recently taken my SAT test in which I scored a 1,110 on, I want to improve on that score and study a lot for when the next SAT testing opportunity presents itself. I am going into Construction Management for college in which I plan on attending Florida Institute of Technology.

I would say one of my biggest motivators is from when my team and I traveled to Cuba in summer, 2018. We traveled all over Havana, Cuba playing several games and I really saw how much the kids there care about the sport and it goes to show me how easy I have it here where I play compared to what they have. I was very humbled when I saw kids on the side of the streets playing baseball with literally sticks and stones. It is very easy to say another motivator for me are my parents who are always there and when they stay to watch me which really shows how much they care and I take that very personal which I'm appreciative of them for that.

I want to look into colleges that will be good for me academically as well as for sports. I love the game of baseball and I would absolutely love to play at the next level.

I really appreciate you taking the time to read this and I know that without a doubt I will enjoy playing baseball in college, Thank You and have a great day.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
