Zachary Jones '16 Recruiting Profile

I  am currently a Junior at North Paulding High School and start on our Varsity team. Our HS team made the 5A Elite 8 in 2014. Elected by my HS Coach to  represent the baseball team in (SALT), Student Athlete Leadership Team.  This organization helps all sports at our HS be better leaders on and off the field.

It is a dream to play baseball at the next level. My primary position is Catcher, but  I also play 3B and pitch. Perfect Game (Sept 2014)  has recently ranked me as the #8 ranked Catcher in GA and 109 Nationally. I play on Team Demarini GA during the summer.  We are a nationally ranked team.   I am 3, 4, 5 hitter with HR power.  I am 5'11 and 195lbs.   I work out with MLB Trainer, Rocky Thorne at Baseball Performance Centers out  of Marietta, GA.  My top pitching velocity is currently 85 with good spin on a  11-5 curve and developing change-up.  I look to continue to develop velocity over the next couple years as I develop core muscle groups.  Sophomore season, I hit.333 for Varsity for the hit 371 on my summer team team with 4 HR's and 10 doubles in 100 at bats.

Zach Jones is a 2016 C/3B, RHP with a 5-11 190 lb. frame from Acworth, GA who attends North Paulding. Jones has an athletic build, hits from a slightly open stance, line drive swing plane with lift. Has power to all fields. Aggressive swing, has strength in swing and makes hard contact. Defensively, sets good target behind plate. Accurate throws from a clean transfer and release. Also pitched, varies arm slots. Gets good run and sink on fastball. Delivery is online and uses lower half well. Curveball has 11/5 shape, change up shows potential with good sink. Outstanding Student.
