Hello there! My name is Griffin Maxwell. I am a 15 year old sophomore at Collins Hill High School in Suwannee, GA.
Since I was 8 years old, I wanted to be a major league baseball player. At that time, I thought it was easy to be one. Soon after, I learned that wasn't the case. That was the first year I played baseball (2007), and that was when I had had my dream and my realization. That peak has been cut a little short now though. I want to focus on something more realistic, and then once that realistic goal is surpassed, then I could finish my asscent to the top of the peak.
That realistic goal you may be wondering? The goal for me is to earn a scholarship, and become a college baseball player. That's how I got here. My mother knows I am determined to achieve that goal, so she showed me this website to get me on even better track for that. The biggest thing I want to focus on before baseball, is obviously grades. Last semester I earned a 3.5 GPA. I know that I can do better, and that is what I am striving to do this time around. I hope to get all A's, and I feel like I'm on course to do so. When being watched by an important person, or having the vision in my head of that person standing there watching me, it makes me want to work harder, so I can impress him or her. If a recruiter was at a game, camp, etc, then I'd give my maximum effort, even if a recruiter wasn't there I'd still give it my all, because I know that if I'm not noticed, then a scholarship is at stake, and no student athlete ever wants to lose that opportunity.
My goal deadline is quickly approaching. I hope within the next 2 1/2 years, that I will have earned a scholarship, and be able to enjoy my senior year knowing that I have nothing to worry about, except graduating with a diploma, a 4.0 GPA and leading the baseball team to a state title.
Hope to get in touch with who ever reads this. Thanks.
