Brent Jones '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is Brent Jones. I'm a 6' 4" RHP from Woodstock, Georgia. Like any other baseball player, my goal is to play at the next level, but what's different about me is I am always preparing to play at the next level. Always tweaking my form, my pitches, and my attitude, I have greatly matured over the years and bettered myself to become a more productive me, on and off the field. While baseball is important, academics are imperative to me and my future. I am currently taking engineering based classes to benefit myself for an engineering college-based environment. On top of that, community service is also a large part of my life. My dream is a television on a baseball channel, with an anonymous audience, however the camera is focused on me, and the focal point of the screen is the stat box. I see this little box every time I dream about my goal, and no matter how minute this may seem to others, that is my goal, to have a box on the screen with my name at the top of it. I realize the only way to obtain this vision is to go through the process, like everyone else. My personality forces me to make sure nothing stands in the way of my goal and I, which is a strong explanation of how I overcame Tommy John surgery at such a young age. In the end, that experience has only made me more mature and responsible, and has made me realize my true love and passion for the game of baseball.
