Kaleb Podger '18 Recruiting Profile

My name is Kaleb Austin Podger and I am A Junior at Shaw High School in Columbus, GA.  I started Varsity my freshman year mainly playing 3rd base, but I also played Left Field and Second Base.  I am playing Centerfield, Catcher and Pitching for the Georgia Black Crackers this summer.  All the tournaments we play in are 18u.  I maintained Honor Roll all through my freshman and Sophomore year. All of my academic classes were Advanced Placement classes.   I was fortunate to receive the Hustle Award my Freshman and Sophomore year. I hope to continue playing at a  higher level once I graduate from High School.  I am sure it is every kids dream to play for a D-1 school, but I am realistic and  would play for a Junior College or D-3 school. I just want to play ball.  I am a hard worker and I never give up. I know deep down I have what it takes to keep playing.  It is hard to receive a full athletic scholarship, so my plans are to keep my grades up and hopefully receive an academic and athletic scholarship. I hope to go to college for some sort of medical degree.  I haven't decided entirely what I would like to do with a medical degree. If you ask any of my present and past coaches they will tell you I am a solid athlete who is a go getter and is willing to learn.  I am on the baseball field to do my best, get better and learn.  I am a team player.  I do not walk on to the field to waste anyone's time.  I walk on the field to get better! I want to be that guy kids look up to in a positive way.
