I REALLY DO KNOW WHAT KIND OF DREAM I AM CHASING!
I have had an up close and personal look at the life of a college baseball player. I had the privilege of watching my brother play and experience the difficulties and the joys of his college career. In addition to wanting to get an excellent education, I want to put in the work and experience a college baseball career at the highest level I am capable. Having grown up with three older siblings who were all successful athletes, the drive to compete and excel has been a part of who I am from a very early age. I willingly want to experience and embrace the grind.
I make a 100% commitment to be the best student, team mate, leader, and player that I can possibly be. I believe everything in my life has prepared me for this moment. When I was only eight years old, my father almost died. All the way back then I decided I was never going to let a dream go un-pursued.
I want to graduate college with an excellent reputation for character on and off the field, exceptional grades, and the knowledge of knowing that I worked as hard as I could and was the best student, pitcher, team mate, person, and friend that I possibly could have been.

- Adam Benefield is a 2018 LHP with a 6-4 170 lb. frame from Flowery Branch, GA who attends Gainesville HS. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with long limbs and room to fill throughout moving forward. Primary lefthanded pitcher, worked exclusively out of the stretch with nice rhythm and tempo to delivery. High leg lift and gathers well at balance while working with a lose and easy arm action through the back prior to an extended three-quarters release. Strides on line towards the ball and gets over front side while incorporating lower half well. Hides ball well and gets on hitters quickly; topped out at 83 mph and pitched to both sides of the plate with occasional running life. Curveball shows 2-8 shape and throws it for strikes up to 73 mph, mixed well and kept hitters off balance while also flashing a changeup at 75 mph. Able to induce contact early in the count and challenge within zone. Very good student. PG Grade 8

- Adam Benefield is a 2018 LHP/1B with a 6-4 155 lb. frame from Flowery Branch, GA who attends Gainesville High School. Large frame, lean, slender build, very long limbs, athleticism, and lots of room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Primary left handed pitcher, started from the middle of the rubber, on-line landing, leg raise past belt into body, long arm action through the back, big arm circle, and threw from a high three quarter arm slot. Created plane well with length of limbs and pitched with impressive tempo. Fastball worked 77-81 mph with mostly true life. Curveball showed good depth with 11/5 shape at 73 mph and developing spin. Slider was better of both breaking pitches with tight 10/4 shape and kept low for swing and miss. Showed good athleticism to repeat delivery and throw strikes. Will continue to improve with additional strength. Good student. PG Grade 7.5 Pitching: 7.5
