Personal Statement

Named 2016 Ivy League Rookie of the Week (week 8), as a starter for Cornell University, hitting .471 (including a 6-game hitting streak). Began as a starting DH mid-Freshman year, and rose to became one of top 3 producing hitters for Cornell in 2016. Also played error-free 1st base, continuing my error-free streak for all of my Senior Year in high school. Named 2015 "Baseball Player of the Year" by the Savannah Morning News, surpassing all high school players in the southeastern Georgia region. Also named "All Star Prep" by the Savannah Morning News for both 2014 and 2015, as well as "All Region" for both 2014 and 2015 by region coaches. Graduated ranked 1st in 2015 High School Senior Class with a 99.04 GPA.From 8th grade through graduating 12th grade straight A's every semester, including Honors, AP and college classes. Currently have a 3.3/4.0 GPA at Cornell in the Engineering (Computer Science) program. I am passionate about baseball and my studies. I work hard on and off the field. Being 6'5" gives me a competitive advantage over my opponents. I am a line-drive, power hitter (batting third or fourth in the lineup) who uses the whole field. I ended my 2015 Varsity regular season with a .521 batting average, driving in 44 RBI's, and leading the region in RBI's, home runs, triples, singles and total hits. I am posting on this site video from my 2016 season at Cornell and from the 2016 summer. I have been a starter on the elite Georgia Chain/Game On teams of Shannon Snyder, 14-year hitting coach for the Atlanta Braves and scout for the New York Mets and Braves. Many current MLB players have come from his teams. I have listed him as a reference, and he would be glad to tell you more about my abilities. I also played for ABD Academy in California, often playing teams at the junior college level (when I was still a high school freshman). I am proud to say that I have played across the country, as well as in the Bronco World Series (in Monterey, California) in 2010, which involved teams from all over the world. I was invited and tried out for the Team USA 17U team. During that week I hit two home runs, as well as multiple singles and doubles. Our team was the #1 seed, getting eliminated just short of the finals. At the conclusion, I was asked by the Team USA scouts to fill out paperwork for advancement to their next level. I was invited back for 2015 by Team USA.
