Ever since I began playing baseball I knew that it was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I've always hustled and worked hard to get where I am today and I hope to continue on to the next level. I want to play at a competitive level of collegiate baseball. I want to go to college and get an education to ensure my future if my baseball career falls short of my end goal, the big leagues.
I have always been a natural leader. I love the responsibility of the leader. I lead by example and by words, no matter the situation, I will always support and encourage my teammates to play their best and give it their all whether they are playing well or struggling. Every individual makes up a team and that team must have chemistry as well as respect one another in order to play at the top level that they are capable of and that is something I strive for as a leader and as a teammate.
I have a good work ethic and am always trying to find a way to get better or up my game as well as teammates. Hard work and practice is the key to success as a team and as an individual. In the off season, I have a workout schedule that helps me continue to develop my skills and strengthen my body. This past year, I worked out with two coaches from the Chicago Cubs organization. I will also be playing on the Idaho Cubs Scout team this Fall (Fall 2015). This select team travels and plays college teams every weekend. I feel this is an opportunity to prepare me for the next level.
Not only do I have the ability to play the game of baseball, I have a solid fundamental knowledge of the game. This knowledge helps me keep cool in situations and not panic because I know what to do. I can handle pressure situations well. I thrive under pressure and live for the opportunities to come through in the clutch moments. Additionally, I am extremely coachable. I have the ability to take instruction and make adjustments quickly. I use instruction to help me develop in the moment as well as in the future.
I do what it takes to win, end of story.
