Tyler Gay '15 Recruiting Profile

My dream is to play ball at the highest level that I am physically able. I love baseball with all of my heart and it has been a passion of mine since I was a young boy.  My dad passed away when I was 14, which was an emotional struggle I had to overcome.  I managed to fight through this life-altering event by hitting buckets of balls each day and taking grounders.  I'm emotional tough because of this experience and this mental strength is a valuable asset on the field.  I've learned to be a reliable, consistent player that performs during stressful situations.  I believe this consistency and mental strength helps me to earn the trust of my teammates and coaches.  I'm going to perform for them and for myself each time I take the field.  

As an athlete and a student, I know what my roles and responsibilities are and I take them seriously.  I have balanced academics and sports my whole life and will continue to do so during college.   Much like most young boys who have dreams of playing baseball, I too have the dream of playing on as far as I can go.  But I bring with this dream, a desire to see through what my dad and I started when I was 4 years old.  I've been preparing to play college ball my whole life.  I have what it takes to make a positive impact on your team; in attitude, in ball skills, and in mental strength to overcome and accomplish goals.   I'll work hard for you on the field and off.  I look forward to hearing from you and exploring my future.
