Personal Statement

I have grown up watching and playing baseball all of my life, and it has been a passion to me ever since I picked up a glove. Over the years I have gained knowledge and information on the game itself and feel very confident in myself that I am a good player. Not only can I bring talent to a team, I can bring a leadership role by giving everybody on the team respect, confidence, and peace of mind knowing that they have a person on the team that will always pick them up when times are not going as planned. I also view my self as a very hard worker and try my very best to go above and beyond the competition in terms of training and committing myself to work as hard as I possibly can to get better.  If there is a chance that comes my way that is a opportunity to practice and get better, I will take it.

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • Chicagoland Classic Showcase
  • 6/16/17 to 6/17/17
  • Event was a series of games played with teams from every division in the state of Illinois. Key stats were taken either before or after said games were played and each game consisted of nine innings.
  • Camp/Event
  • Top 96 Illinois Fall Classic
  • 10/30/16 to 10/30/16
  • This Top 96 showcase consisted of 60 players who were evaluated by college coaches, most of whom are from Illinois. Notable colleges include Northern Illinois, Eastern Illinois, Western Illinois, Southern Illinois, and Xavier University. Players were grouped by position and at the start of the showcase, talked with the college coaches about expectations and college baseball qualities. Players were then evaluated by position, exit velocity, throwing velocity, batting practice, and live batting by the coaches.
  • Camp/Event
  • Baseball Factory/Under Armour National Team Tryout
  • 12/06/15 to 12/06/15
  • This event was a tryout for the Under Armour and Baseball Factory National Team. This event also acted like PBR (Prep Baseball Report) in making a profile for the players and taking down all the information that goes along with the position the player signed up for. This event was held by multiple college coaches from around the Mid-West area. The coaches held this tryout just like a Professional tryout with all players completing a 30 and 60 yard dash, exit velocity for batting and throwing, shuttle run, and standing broad jump. Each position specific player would then go with a designate coach for evaluation and some instruction on the players strengths and weaknesses.
  • Camp/Event
  • Blue Collar Catchers Camp
  • 11/27/15 to 11/27/15
  • This camp was mainly focused on the fundamentals of catching with drills and instruction led by Andrew Bartman of Bethany College and other local coaches from different colleges.
  • Camp/Event
  • MCYSA International Tournament
  • 7/24/15 to 8/02/15
  • Camp/Event
  • Best of the Great Lakes Baseball Tournament at Notre Dame
  • 7/09/15 to 7/12/15
  • Camp/Event
  • Perfect Game Super 25 Regional
  • 6/26/15 to 6/28/15
  • Camp/Event
  • June 18th-21st: Valparaiso University Tournament, Valparaiso, IN
  • 6/18/15 to 6/21/15
  • Camp/Event
  • Carthage College Tournament
  • 5/29/15 to 5/31/15

Training

  • Catchers Training with Coach Jack Kopacz
  • 3 years
  • This camp is led by Jack Kopacz, my club team coach. This camp focuses on the main mechanics such as foot work on throws to all of the bases and blocking different types of pitches. This camp also works with other fundamentals such as the proper arm slot for catchers for the quickest delivery, where to position yourself on a play at the plate, and the different types of throws and picks to each base.
  • Speed, Agility, and Core workout
  • 5 years
  • This type of training focuses on building up strength and stamina. Most workouts consist of explosive movement and training with weights for the lower half of the body. Other workouts consist of upper body weight training with learning way to workout and stretch the upper body to keep loose.
  • Batting Insruction
  • 2 years
  • This batting instruction is held in the winter and led by Coach Steve Arnieri. Coach Arnieri focus mainly on the fundamentals of batting for the first few lessons but graduates toward keeping the hands in a long as possible, making sure the hitter stays inside and drives though the ball, and waiting on the ball more and more so that the hitter gets in the habit of driving the ball up the middle and to opposite field.
