Sheldon Howard '15 Recruiting Profile

I am Sheldon Howard I currently finished high school at Belleville East Township High School in  Belleville, Illinois. I am 2 year Varsity starter at second, then centerfield. I was a 3rd team all conference my first year on varsity. The collegiate goals that I have are going to a four year university to play baseball at the next level, and to study to become an athletic trainer. I can be a good addition to the team because I am a very hard worker on the field and off. I push myself to the limit to get better and also push my teammates to make them better. I love to have fun in practice and games, but I know when its time to get serious to  help my team win games. What makes me different from other recruits is that I go out to have fun and also to get work done. I push my teammates to always get better. I have a high spirit in the dugout to cheer on my teammates when things do not go my teams way. I know my place on a team if its sacrifice bunting, pitch running, or even cheering on my teammates. I do what I am asked without questioning the coach. Althetically, I pay attention what all coaches talk about if its not at the position I play, I like to learn new things about the game to improve myself or even help out a teammate that is having trouble. Learning a new position is fun and interesting to me because I always want to challenge myself physically and mentally at a new position. The same with academics I like to be challenged. Freshman year was a time of adjustment which was hard for me, but after freshman year I started to improve. I work hard to get good grades and ask for help when I struggle in a certain area. Grades are important because I would not be able to play without good grades. As a candidate I have the fire to be a greater person on the field and off. I want to be successful so I'm willing to do whatever it takes.
