Since the age of five, I have been actively involved in baseball. Tee-ball, Minor League, and even travel ball shows some of my participation. I am now the starting shortstop on the Red Hill High School baseball team. Many of my childhood days were spent on the diamond. Someday I hope to be able to say that all my hard work and hours I put into my baseball career have paid off. I want to extend my baseball future with playing college ball.
I believe that I am a good candidate for any collegiate team. I strive to give 110 percent at all times. I have played every position on the field, my abilities are flexible. If my coach were to tell me to switch something, I would do it until I perfected it. I consider myself to always have a great, positive attitude on and off of the field. I am not the selfish type of person. Yes I have had my share of achievements, second team all conference my Freshman year and first team all conference my Sophomore year. But my personal goals and achievements are not the top priorities on my list, I greatly want to win! I am a hyper-competitive athlete, I want to contribute to the goals of the college I decide to attend. I know to some people winning isn’t everything, but from the small, rural area that I come from, we don’t experience winning all that much. So when my team and I practice three hours a day and give all we have during our games, winning is not just a title. Winning is an accomplishment, a trophy of the hard work you have put in to achieve the win.
Sports are not all I would be about though. Academics are a great deal in life as well. I would dedicate myself to my team as well as when I’m off the field I dedicate myself to my studies. As of right now I have a 3.2 GPA of which only continues to grow. I plan to major in Physical Therapy. I also play other sports on the side, basketball and football. I acknowledge myself to have the competitiveness and capabilities to be a great asset to your college as well as to your baseball program.
