Personal Statement
Well to start with, my first collegiate goal is to get a scholarship. I don't want to stop there though, after the scholarship I would like to work my way into the starting line up and prove that I belong. To me the biggest thing that makes me different is my drive for success. I will do whatever it takes to be successful and be the best person on the field, classroom, and in society. I always pick the best athlete or just person in general and thrive to out perform them, I have been that way since a little kid. Dedication, to me is a big deal, I lift weights for two or three hours after school and then go hit and practice baseball for another two hours. I play high school baseball, travel team baseball, and babe ruth baseball, along with fall baseball at local colleges. One thing I have learned is that you can never stop learning the game or anything else for that matter! I love to listen and pick up on other people's opinion, even if they are my age I can still learn something from them. You are never to good to listen to somebody and learn from them. Academic wise, I understand that is the most important thing in my life. School comes before sports and my social life. My social life is not existent nowadays with all the baseball practice, weight lifting, working on the farm, and school work in general. In my opinion, I think that I am ahead of other recruits because of my understanding of the game. I play short stop and have great knowledge of the game, I move my out fielders around according to the batter and situation of the game. I am an up tempo kind of leader too, I love it when the team is standing up and paying attention to the game and slapping high fives when somebody gets a hit or makes a great play. I am not one to yell at a teammate for making an error either, because that just puts more pressure on them. I believe that we should always try to lift each other and keep the attitudes as positive as possible. I am the best leader on the field and my team looks at me in a good way, but I leave the coaching to the coaches while still leading. My understanding of life is what helps me a lot. I have always been told that I may be the star here but somewhere else there are players and people that are better. I know there will always be someone better in life at what you do, but my drive keeps me always improving. If I do notice that somebody is better then I focus on them and strive to get better than them. I learn from observing people, always picking up tips on how to improve my game. With the dedication that I have and mindset, I am not sure that I will ever reach a peak I am satisfied with because I will always want to keep growing and become the best at everything, while still being humble and a good person in society.
