Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Zack Zagula. I am in the graduating class of 2016 at Mundelein High School (Illinois). I play third base and catcher at Mundelein HS and for the Illinois Indians travel baseball club. I can also play first base and corner outfield. One of my goals is to be a key contributor and leader on our team. Offensively, I want to make every plate appearance a Quality At Bat. Defensively, I use my soft hands, strong arm, and situational awareness to make plays. When catching, my goal is to support our pitching staff and control the running game. Ultimately, I want to play baseball at the highest level I possibly can. After high school, my goal is to attend college where I can play baseball and study business and communications.
On the field, I separate myself from the rest of the competition with hard work and my ability to be coached. I can hit for power, for average, and drive in runs. My confidence, ability to hit in clutch situations, as well as my physical and mental toughness helps my team succeed. I am a leader, motivator, and a student of the game. I love baseball and have a tremendous amount of respect for the game. The game helps me to become a better player and person.
Off the field, I take my studies seriously. I graduated Cum Laude and maintained a 3.7 (3.8 weighted) GPA while taking AP and Honors classes. I was selected All-Academic in my conference. I am also active in my community through my church's youth group and by volunteering to serve at community events. At school, I was active in the National Honor Society, the Future Business Leaders of America club, Students Against Destructive Decisions, and Student-Athlete Leadership Training (SALT). I have also mentored freshman as a member of Link Crew.
So, now you know a little more about me, my goals, and my dreams. I believe my skills, drive, and respect for the game are what college coaches are looking for in a player and team leader. Thanks for checking out my profile on NCSA.
