Matthew Bernstein '15 Recruiting Profile

I am Matt Bernstein and my baseball career started when I was five. By nine I was playing travel ball on the Naperville Legends.  My coach played and coached college baseball and he taught us to be ball players who play the game the right way.  A couple of years ago the team broke up and now I am on Team Acceleration out of Naperville IL. I really love playing in big tournaments and games. Last year we played at Notre Dame and competed against a lot of top teams. This year we will play in big tournaments at Western Michigan, Notre Dame and Northern Illinois. I want to pursue my dream of being a pitcher. I can keep hitters off balance by changing speeds and hitting my targets. If they do get on, they still need to deal with my highly effective pick-off moves. It is more than just baseball though, I really enjoy helping out the community in whatever way I can.  I have volunteered at Feed My Starving Children, Loaves and Fishes and SCARCE.   It would be important for me to play at a college where I can continue to develop my skills and contribute to the team's success while earning a business degree that will help me later in life.
