Personal Statement
My name is Tyler Zarembka, I am a 17 year old teenager with the career aspirations of becoming a college player and coach. When I was 12 years old, my school required every student to interview a person for career week in the role we were potentially interested in. My mother contacted the AD for ASU and managed to get me a chance to interview Tim Esmay, former Head Coach of the ASU Sun Devils. Not only was I totally in awe of who I was talking to but I learned that he not only played for ASU and won a College World Series but his most memorable experience was coaching them to win, not one, but two College World Series. When the conversation concluded I told him to watch out because in 15 years I was coming for his job! I will never forget he laughed at me and told me "I hope you do son!" I would consider my life to blessed if I was able to share my gift, that is the knowledge of baseball with 30+ kids every year. What an amazing opportunity it would be to make an impact that big vs. just being an individual contributor.
I have loved everything about the game of baseball since I was 6 years old. When I step on the field and feel the power of being able to control the game through my pitching, there is no other place in the world I would rather be. I am not afraid to attack the zone and while I may not be a 90-100 mph pitcher, I am without question a pitcher that could give Greg Maddox a run for his money with my ball movement. I have played for Rhino baseball for two years and this summer I had most innings pitched, had a no hitter, 2 shut outs, and led the team in strike outs (aver. 1.5 K's per inning).
When it comes to my character, I love working with kids. Once a week I volunteer my time at the SOS Village to mentor and tutor foster kids in need of help. I have a good amount of close friends but prefer to spend my time working out, practicing, and improving my game so I achieve my goals of being a professional baseball player.
What makes me different is my willingess to succeed. I may not be the biggest player, or throw the fastest pitch, but I focus and perfect what I am capable of. That is providing consistency, reliability, determination, dedication, and hard-work to the college team that will have me.
I hope you will consider me. Please email me if you would like my travel schedule.
Thank you for your time.
