Personal Statement

Hi, I am Jake Klekamp. I am 6'2" tall, weigh 200 lbs. and play catcher.  I will be starting my Junior year at Guilford High School in Rockford, Illinois.  I have a 3.14 GPA.  I am enrolled in all AP courses and hope to earn my Bachelor's degree in English or History and eventually go to Law School.  I would like to play baseball with a Division I school.  I played on the Varsity baseball team as a Freshman and Sophomore.   With my summer travel baseball team, I led the team with a .522 batting average and we ended the season at 24-2-1.

What I like best about playing catcher is the strategy of both pitch calling and the defense of the infield.  I will work hard, study hard and play hard.  I'm a good team player and am respectful of my coaches and teammates.  I love the game of baseball and would really like to play at the next level.
