Personal Statement
Ever since I started playing tee-ball at four years old, I knew that I wanted to play baseball for as long as I can. Since then I have worked hard to be the best player and teammate that I possibly can be. It wasn’t easy, as there was inevitably always someone bigger than me, someone who could throw harder than me, or someone who people thought was better than me. I just used that as motivation to work as hard as I can to be a great ball player and prove them wrong. Now, after being the starting second baseman for my school’s varsity team as a sophomore and on my travel team that plays against high level competition, I’m more motivated than ever to keep proving people wrong and to play at the next level.
Academics have always been a priority to me. I always put in just as much effort into my schoolwork, if not more, as I do into practicing for baseball. I always try to hold myself to a higher standard and be a top notch student as well as athlete. I strive to be someone that my teammates can look up to on and off the field. I am a member of the National Honor Society and have had straight A’s through the first two years of my high school career at one of the best high schools in the country. I’m looking to be a part of a program that is a good fit for me academically and athletically. I believe that my work ethic, my drive, and my positive influence on my teammates would make a great impact on your program.
