Colin Hornback '24 Recruiting Profile

My goals in college whether it be academics or athletics are to become the best person I can be at what I do, and to improve and excel at whatever challenge is placed in front of me. I will continue to focus and work hard to keep the high standards I have set for myself in the classroom and on the field.   I work hard to achieve my goals, I am a very passionate person, I enjoy competition, and I always work hard to be the best.  I will do whatever it takes to make sure my team is successful.

My freshman year went very well. I started varsity at 3rd base and hit 3rd in the lineup.  I went 5-0 as a pitcher with 4 complete games. Of the 5 wins I beat the 1st, ,3rd and 4th place teams in our conference. Two of the complete games were in the playoffs of which one was in the sectional title game where I got the win and our school  won its first ever sectional title game . As a team we were 2nd place in the Lincoln trail conference and we got our first sectional title win ever and made the super sectionals (elite 8) for the first time in team history.  I was voted first team all conference , first  team all western Illinois as a pitcher and  was selected to play on the McDonalds All-American game at Dozer park In Peoria.  I was also was selected for the first team all conference  for academics.  Academically my freshmen year went well.  I’have a 5.0 gpa and I am currently ranked #1 in my class of 2024
