Personal Statement
When someone asks why I play baseball, the answer is simple. I love the mental aspect of it. Baseball is a psychological game. In my opinion, baseball is like a game of poker. As a pitcher, I am always reading the other team. Are they going to bunt? Steal? I intend to pursue a degree in Psychology, so baseball fits in perfectly with that goal. It's important to me to be a positive influence on my teammates and to constantly remind them of their passion of the game and why they are really playing.
I am highly aware of the competitive environment associated with playing sports for a college and the need to balance sports with academics. I can assure you that I will give my all to the team. If you choose me for your team, I can promise you that I will be dedicated, focused, and hard working academically and as a team player in order to properly represent my school.
