Personal Statement
Baseball has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My Dad started playing catch and hitting grounders to me when I was very young and I loved every minute of it. I started playing travel ball when I was about 7 years old and that was just the beginning of my, many summers of competitive baseball.
I have been told that I am easy to coach and I have been nominated each year since Junior High to attend the local Character of Champions Leadership seminars. I also was selected by my fellow students to become a PAL (Peer Assistance & Leadership) mentor. I am one of 25 students chosen from a student body of 1900. This skill carries over into my baseball life.
Due to a football knee injury in the fall of 2015, I was unable to play baseball at all in the spring and summer of 2016. During my recovery, I was still a member of our Varsity baseball team and attended every game and practice. I was often the first one out of the dugout to encourage my teammates. This taught me patience and humility, as not playing sports was a complete lifestyle change for me.
I would bring solid baseball skills, leadership and good character to a college program. I am generally non-judgmental and I am supportive of my teammates.
