Personal Statement
I am a 5'10" incoming Senior at Streator High School. I have been around the game of baseball all of my life. I have watched my older siblings play and my dad coach. I started playing baseball at the age of five and fell in love with it. I have played T-Ball, Little League, Travel Teams through Varsity High School. Even though I am a three sport school athlete: baseball, basketball and golf; baseball is definitely my stand out sport because I train for it year round and my love has created great knowledge of the game.
Baseball has taught me to be a team player and a good leader. I have also learned that I have to work hard, be dedicated and to have a positive attitude, which I feel are characteristics that stand out because my Varsity coach has selected me to be Captain for this upcoming season. I have received Academic All-Conference Team each year for every sport I participated in. This year I received an Honorable Mention for the All-Area Team.
Outside of my game I focus on my academics and staying involved in my community. Academically I have taken the higher level classes maintaining a 3.7 GPA. I am in the top 15% of my class and have been elected to National Honor Society. I am a member of an organization called Operation Snowball which is a group to spread awareness to stop drugs and alcohol from spreading in our community. I volunteered at my church's pancake breakfast, helped a Little League team at practice and work at youth sports camps at our high school.
Even though I have had many experiences I am ready to embrace the next challenge to play at the collegiate level. I know that it will take a lot of hard work, dedication, and sacrifices but I am determined to rise to any occasion.
